Can MailEnable be installed and run on a non GUI "server core" installation?

We would have been also interested in running mailEnable on server core.
What exactly is the problem? Which needed components are missing?
And if the GUI would be the issue, wouldn't it be possible to run the management tool(s) on another computer and/or browser remotely?
