503 error,searched forum solutions,my situations different

Post by jkeithsowell » Thu Mar 17, 2005 7:03 pm

I can recieve mail in Outlook. Get 503 error when sending. Tried all Authentication tricks. No luck. I am using DSL with Dynamic but IP automatically updated as if Static thru No-IP. My ISP DOES NOT BLOCK PORTS 25 and 110. My Linksys router set to open both ports. Tried disabling router firewall, no difference. MS Win XP Software Firewall ports open.

Could it be MS XP Firewall? Router Firewall? Either ones settings? Help!

Ensure you are using the correct credentials. You need to use Mailboxname@postofficename and not domain name. In outlook make sure you have the "My server requires Authentication" enabled.
