XMPP Chat Setup

Post by solucionmike »

Hi, are there any instructions to setup the new XMPP Chat facility?
I have setup the DNS SRV record (not really sure why)
I have enabled the XMPP service, set it to be configured per Postoffice, but now I'm stuck.
Where do I assign which Postoffices can use it? Nothing under Properties of the PostOffice.
A walk through would help just to set it up the first time.
Thanks
Mike

Hi,

Please see: http://www.mailenable.com/documentation ... neral.html

You need to access the properties of the XMPP service and then set to postoffice level. Next access the postoffice properties and navigate to the "Service selection" tab and enable the XMPP service for the postoffice.

Hi Ian,
From MailEnableAdmin when i select: MailEnable Management-> Messaging Manager-> Post Offices-> and right click the Post Office and select properties I DON'T see the list of 13 tabs you show in the following link:
http://www.mailenable.com/documentation ... ction.html

I just have 6 tab options: General, Web Mail, Web Admin, Auth Policies, Footers and Facebook.

I guess the version of MailEnableAdmin Snapin that was installed during the upgrade was the old version 9.

Ideas how to fix that?
Thanks
Mike

Hi,

My bad. The additional tabs and the "Service Selection" tab is only available in Enterprise. Therefore it can only be enabled/disabled globally in Professional. There is a reported bug that the XMPP properties lists the option to set per postoffice (in professional) but this will be fixed for the upcoming release.
