New Install under Server 2022 Not Working

Post by dbly »

I'm getting ready to split one domain on my server (version 10.40) onto its own server, and am running into issues getting MailEnable to work properly under Server 2022.

The new server is a fresh install of Server 2022 standard, and have installed Mailenable Professional 10.40 in evaluation mode.

I cannot log in using Outlook via Imap, or via Web Mail.

If I attempt to log in via webmail I get "unknown or disabled user" no matter what user I try.
If I attempt to log in via web admin I get a popup with "runtime error", IIS logs a 500 error, and the event log has errors like this showing that it is unable to load MEAIAU.DLL:

Event code: 3005
Event message: An unhandled exception has occurred.

I have already done in-place reinstalls of Maileable using both the "upgrade web applications" and "reapply iis security" options, with no change in behaviors.

I also see some 404 Errors in the log after restarting IIS relating to /api/passphrase that may or may not be related:

Mailenable lists Server 2022 as being compatible, but are there known issues/incompatibilities with Server 2022 and MailEnable? Is anybody else trying to use Server 2022 and been successful?

Looks like the environment variable paths for MailEnable have not taken effect. Have you restarted the server after the installation of MailEnable?

Yes. I even spun up a fresh VM of server 2020 without all of my normal customizations, (server hardening, etc.) and had the same problem.

I did, however, eventually discover that if I did an install of 10.41 beta over the top of 10.40 that web authentication works, so I am in the process of copying over the postoffice messages as I type this so that I can configure and test the rest of the functions.
