Multiple DNS blacklistings suddenly

Post by labsy » Thu Jun 01, 2006 8:50 pm

Hi!

Today my mail server suddenly begun rejecting to send mail. In SMTP activity log there seems everything OK, but in debug log I find most of e-mails to be rejected due to blacklisting of RECIPIENT or SENDER.
It is NOT my server's I in blacklist!

Code: Select all

Recipient Denied: (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) was found in DNS blacklisted database VOX DNSBL.
Now, here are TWO issues:
1.) I do NOt have VOX DNSBL in my SMTP filters! I only have 1 DNS blacklist enabled: sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org
2.) When I query VOX DNSBL, I get TimeOut!

So, obviously ME PRO does not differ valid answer from timeout, and thinks timeout is positive answer.

How to solve this, except of disabling the blacklist?

And another question:
Is it possible to set ME PRO to reject mail if it founds IP on 3 blacklists, for example? One single positive answer is too strict, and, like in my case, may lead to malfunction.
