Problems with non-US characters in Webmail 3 PRO

Post by labsy » Sun Oct 21, 2007 10:12 pm

Hi developers,

there is a problem with non-us characters when using Webmail 3.03 PRo version. It seems webmail application (HooDoo skin) is not passing already filled-in data to itself correctly.
For example:
I go creating new mail,
Type in

Code: Select all

Testing locales čÅ¡đćž ČÅ ĆĐŽ
then I go to Attachments, and then Continue writting message,
and I get:

Code: Select all

Testing locales scdcz CSCDZ

This only happens for certain locales settings:
with CP 1250 (Windows Latin 2) message passes fine.
with ISO 8859 (Windows Latin 1) message converts to US characters and looses local characters.

Labsy the problem is the characterset you are using to create the message does not support the characters your are placing in the message. So when the characters are converted while being saved to drafts (which is the effect of the toggle) then the characters will fail to translate.

Try and change your characterset to UTF-8 as this is the most universal characterset.
