HTTP MAIL retrieval

Post by kruger@sanarchitect.net »

could use the http mail function.
what about httpmail retrieval??? did you forget?
lol you put in pop retrieval but not httpmail retrieval
alot of people are using hotmail and yahoo mail
if i want them to move to my mail server there going to need to be able to retrieve there mail from there...
and most people dont like going to three different places for mail...
Just a thought ...
Also with pop retrieval is there a way that the user could set the folder
where the mail goes to?
How about a from field so the user could select which email address
he wanted to send his mail from.... either a popmail retrieval account or httpmail account or one of the end users local email addresses...

LOL - HTTPMail (other than hotmail) is not that popular yet -- Hmmm Outlook 11>?>?.

One of the biggest hurdles we have is explaining the difference between HTTPMail and WebMail!!!!
HTTPMail retrieval is on the list - but the list is long --- it also covers most of the features you outline in this message. Thanks for your input btw.

In the interim, the users of your 8 domains will need to configure HTTP Mail providers for ME and Hotmail to run under the same Outlook Express profile.. Sorry!

But for each person i set this up for the first question they ask me
is do i have to use yahoo mail and hotmail anymore..
I tell them no...
but then they still need there old mail...
so they dont bother using this new mail system...
then i feel like its a waste..

also in the mail retrieval section can you set it to pick up mail
but can you also fill in the from address and send the mail out through someone elses mail server>>???
also when mail arrives we really badly need to be able to filter the mail to
different folders

I must second that... It would make 3 of my four mailboxes switch in an instant :)

Remember that Yahoo mail doesn't use HTTPMail, so a HTTPMail retriever wouldn't work with it. Yahoo charges for POP3 access to your account, so if you have paid for this service you can either use the POP Retriever in MailEnable Professional, or just configure Yahoo mail to forward the email to the MailEnable email account.

I was primarily thinking about hotmail. Or do they have a forward option ?

hotmail

Im having this problem more and more...
people think of yahoo and hotmail or hushmail when they use webbased mail systems...
and webmail just wont get them to change over until they can have one stop shopping... and get all there different mail accounts in one place...
