Thunderbird not finding messages in IMAP search

Post by MrByte »

Hello,
I have noticed that with Thunderbird (not sure if with other mail clients as well) when doing a search for a string in body of message (subject works) it returns no messages, whereas if i do it trough the webmail interface it correctly returns the messages. Am I missing something here or is this a known issue?
Thanks

Hi,

Does the above issue occur within Outlook?

I tried with Outlook 2007, but it prefetches all, dpoing the search locally instead of on the server.....

Hi,

I have managed to simulate the behaviour and have raised a defect within our internal register for further investigation by the developers. Will update the thread when we have further information.

Hi,

Please apply the following IMAP patch as it may help resolve your problems. Follow the steps below on how to apply the patch:

Download patch from this link:
http://www.mailenable.com/beta/MEIMAPS_080412.zip

To install:

1) Stop your IMAP service
2) Rename the MEIMAPS.EXE file in the Mail Enable\bin directory. This will allow you to roll back this update if it does not improve matters for you
3) Extract the attached file to the Mail Enable\bin directory
4) Start the IMAP service

One one side, yes, the search now works, but then onj the other side, same as I reported with the 041 patch, I can not delete anything via Thunderbird. It moves it to the Trash folder (actually copies it) and then it does NOT remove it from the Inbox.
So, issue not resolved yet.
