"This mail server requires authentication before ....&q

Post by rjay » Tue Jan 20, 2009 12:35 pm

We use a 3rd-party SMTP server (authsmtp.com) and occassionally, outgoing emails are CC'd back to us. Since switching on the 'Prevent Sender Address Spoofing' (which drastically reduced our incoming spam), CC'd emails send via authsmtp are now being rejected by MailEnable because when they see it is FROM a local domain, they presume it's a spoof.

Authsmtp.com is listed in the DNS record for our local domains so I'd have thought that ME would have checked the SPF record to see if the server was an allowed server before presuming it is a spoof ? Is there anyway we can add authsmtp.com as an allowed server so that emails WITH a local domain AND sent from authsmtp.com are NOT presumed to be spoofs ?

At the suggestion of Ian @ME tech support I've added the IP address of authsmtp's servers to the Whitelist. That didn't work and Ian has now stopped answering my emails ....
