Major IMAP issues since 3.62 update

Hi,

I am expieriencing major issues with the IMAP service since updateing to v3.62 - after different timespans, the IMAP service for a specific IMAP mailbox stops working, the IMAP client gets timeouts ("server has not responded for 60 seconds").

This does not recover until the ME IMAP service is restarted. After that, it works fine for an unspecified amount of time. Often only for minutes, sometimes for hours, sometimes for 1-2 days.

Intrestingly, as soon as IMAP stops working, the webmail for the account that cannot access the IMAP server anymore is also stops working. The user can login and can view his inbox, but as soon as clicking on any mail in the inbox, the webmail stops working. As soon as the IMAP service is restarted, also webmail starts working fine again.

All other webmail accounts that haven't IMAP problems remain working fine.

The logfiles say nothing ... debug or activity, i see that the client connects but after that - nothing. No errors, no indication for any further activity.

Seems like some kind of locking issue ...

Think i will rollback to 3.61 now, but anyhow is anybody expieriencing similar issues or was even able to resolve this?

Hi,
same issue here since 3.62. We are using ME with configuration stored in SQL Database. We noticed the MESMTPC Service does not close SQL Connections properly. it seems like every request to the SMTP Servies causes a query to table SMTP_ACCESS. Depending on Server load the SQL Server is fed up with Connections an denies servicing within 10-20 hours. This also affects all other services (POP, IMAP), i assume they arent able to authenticate new incoming user sessions.

I have experienced the same issue. A roll back of the IMAP service / replacing the MEIMAPS.exe with an older version solves the problem.
If it works - don't fix it

Thanks for the comments, at least good to know that I am not the only one having issues.

Hope ME can locate and fix this issue soon ... until then, I will go with 3.61 ...

Same issue, same problem with IMAP services...Help us.
If i replace the MEIMAPS.exe working too? How can I do?

Any one have the 3.61 imap file on hand?

Need it since i got the same problems...

Same issues here. IMAP times out in both webmail and client software for individual mail boxes.

Greeetings!

could someoen guide me with ME 3.12

IMAPt recently starting dying frequently unless we manuallr start service.
after we ran couple of checks
webmail with IMAP stopped working for many mailboxes.

can someone let me know how to fix this and also For IMAP dying out do w eneed to upgrade to ME if yes to which version? sinec this thread seems to say teh most recent version also has problems with IMAP.

We could correct this error as mail data location got changed to default one when one of techs ran reconfigurator.

however, I am still looking around for reasons of imap dying out and how to go for upgrades in case thats the true resolve.

applicarion log reports following when meimap fails

However is ME pro 3.63 is going to be supported wih plesk version
The problem server i Have is running with pelsk 8.2 though..

or
probably we can upgrade upto ME pro 3.5 will that stop these imap crashes?

Hi,

There are no changes within 3.63 that will effect Plesk and there are no current reported defects within 3.63 in regards to the IMAP service.
