Plesk Spamassin and Mailenable Professional

Postby hostking » Wed Apr 06, 2016 5:37 pm

Hi

I have just upgraded our plesk servers using mailenable standard to mailenable professional.
I enabled ClamAV and Spamassassin in mailenable.

Is this recommended?

Must or should I uninstall Plesk's Spamassasin it installs during initial install?

Thanks

Hi,

Did you use the test button within the "SpamAssassin" properties window within the MailEnable administration console to see if it returns a success? If a fail is returned then it it most cannot communicate with the Plesk version of SpamAssassin. Follow the article below which provides the recommended SpamAssassin application that has been tested and works for MailEnable integration:

I see it "fails" so this means we cannot use the Plesk Spamassassin one instead?

Must we purchase JAM software one?

HI,

Not too sure how Plesk SpamAssassin works. The MailEnable test is checking if the spamd.exe service is running and is contactable on the default port. Therefore you will need to inquire with Odins Plesk documentation for information here how they run there SpamAssassin services. Alternatively yes, you will need to purchase JAM SpamAssassin.
