since a few days, we are facing errors as follows, while sendig messages from .NET applications:
exception = System.Net.Mail.SmtpException: The server committed a protocol violation The server response was: UGFzc3dvcmQ6
anybody any idea?

Did this just start to happen? What version of MailEnable are you running? Did you upgrade or make changes to your .NET application? We would need to see log files and inspect the server in more detail. Perhaps lodge a ticket with MailEnable so that you can provide access to the server for a tech to examine in more detail.

thank you for posting.
yes, this behaviour seems to be new. affected are several nodes and many webmasters. as it looks like, all of them are defining mail connection details in their web.config.
during the last days, the affected servers have been updated from .net 4.5.2 to .net 4.6 and mailenable has been updated from v. 9.12 to 9.17.
i will open a support ticket, now.
