Created Mailboxes for new Domain but ME won't accept PW

Our sister company wants to move their mail onto our email server. I created a Post office for them and a domain (companyb.com). I have tried to log on to sales@companyb.com but it won't accept the password. I've checked the log and I see this:

I've changed the password several times. I had ME generate a password and used that. I always get an error that the password is incorrect. I've tried using Windows Live Mail and Thunderbird and get the same results. There is no sales@companyA.com. Did I miss a setting somewhere?

I'm using ME 7.55

Hi,

You are only using the "sales" as the username, you need to use mailboxname@postofficename.

I had tried it both ways before but I set it to do it as sales@companyb.com with the same result. I've included the Debug and the Activity log below. My work around at the moment is to forward any mail coming in to CompanyB to a newly created CompanyA account which is the second entry in the activity log below. That one only uses the username not the entire email address. There are only 2 email addresses in Company B but they really want to access their own accounts not a joint one with a different company name. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Are you certain that the postoffice name the user resides under is "companyb.com" and not something else? Don't get it mixed up with the domain name, it needs to be the postoffice name.

the post office is: mail.glassagg.com; Domain is: glassagg.com; Mailbox name is: sales; Username for mail clients is: sales@mail.glassagg.com.

These match what I see for the original company that does work. when I configure the client for companyA the POP and SMTP servers are set to mail.CompanyA.com but the user name is just me@CompanyA.com. Do I have to change something here?

Hi,

The username that is failing in the log files "sales@glassagg.com". It should be sales@mail.glassagg.com since the postoffice name is mail.glassagg.com

After your last set of questions I did try mail.glassagg.com which worked. I set this up the same as my original postoffice and I don't have to add the "mail" onto their address. I was wondering why it worked like that for the original post office but not the new one. I didn't find a way to rename the post office so is there anyway I can fix by dropping the "mail" or would I need to recreate the post office?
