High Imap Usage

Postby hostking » Wed Mar 08, 2017 7:57 am

I suddenly have high imap usage and not sure what to do.

I see that Client Connections limit under IMAP is set to unlimited.

We have a shared hosting server handling a few hundred email accounts and never had issues until the past few days. We are on 9.62

If I set client connections to say 50 will it cause issues when new users want to connect?

You should not need to limit IMAP connections and should be set to unlimited.

Use the steps below and apply the latest IMAP patch which contains fixes to speed and the way connections are handled:

The update can be downloaded from:

To install:
1. Download the files above
2. Stop the MailEnable IMAP service
3. Navigate to the "Mail Enable\bin" folder and rename the MEIMAPS.EXE file.
This will allow you to roll back this hotfix if needed.
4. Extract the contents of meimaps_32.zip to the BIN folder.
5. Repeat the steps for the IMAP service that resides under the "Mail Enable\bin64" folder and extract the contents of meimaps_64.zip to that
bin64 folder.
6. Start the IMAP service

See how you go with the above revised IMAP service.
