mail stuck in scratch folder

Post by philip.arny »

I just noticed I have a couple dozen emails stuck in the MailEnable scratch folder, with dates going back several weeks.

I'm running MailEnable 9.74 on Windows Server 2012 R2.

I believe the antivirus scanner (clamwin is installed and enabled) and possibly other filters put an email in the scratch folder to look at it.

Any suggestions on where to start to figure out why just a few emails are left in the scratch folder?

Is there a way to tell MailEnable to reprocess the email stuck in the scratch folder?

Thanks,

Philip

Those files are just copies made for ClamWin to process. I always delete them as the originals have been processed, one way or the other.

Thanks for the note.

So these files may be leftover from a Clamwin scan, which sometimes fails to delete a file after scanning.

Can I trust that the relevant emails have been safely delivered even though an associated file remains in the scratch folder?

That has been my experience. You could check the log files to verify for yourself that those emails were actually passed through the process after being scanned.
