WebMail multiple 443 header addresses

Post by bughatti »

Hello all, new to the forums.

I am curious if anyone knows the steps to get multiple 443 header addresses working in Mail Enable. We currently have our primary domain addresses 80 and 443 working. We also have 2 port 80 domains working on top of those in IIS. When I go to create a new port 80 address, it works fine with no errors. When I go to create another 443 header address, iis services stops and when I go to start the iis services, it says it cannot because another is using the same port.

I have scanned the net for instructions, all I have been able to find is this

https://www.mailenable.com/documentation/10.0/Standard/Publishing%20via%20host%20headers%20or%20virtual%20directories.html

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

Please review:

Also please review the following Microsoft IIS guide which contains information about using the SNI option when creating your SSL bindings:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/iis/get-started/whats-new-in-iis-8/iis-80-server-name-indication-sni-ssl-scalability

Thanks for the information. I was able to do a few things, but here is what I am seeing. I already have our primary webmail address as a 443 host header (https://webmail.domain.com) I want to white label another domain so I go to add a new host header with (https://webmail.differentdomain.com) I select 443, leave IP address as all unassigned, no default postoffice and only base of Mondo is created.

After I click ok, i go over to IIS and refresh MailEnable WebmMail site. I see the binding show up. But under the bindings tab the new header shows as http with port 443. If i click edit binding, it is greyed out for me to select the dropdown and change it from http to https. With the setting of http and port 443 on the new binding, i get the same error message as before that it is being used by another port.

Here is the kicker, If i delete the new host header from mailenable, go check iis and see it is deleted, I can then go to Site Bindings in IIS first, create the binding with https selected, set the name, select port 443 and check use sni, then save. I then go to mail enable and see the host header show up fine, i can go to (https://webmail.otherdomain.com) and i get an error connection reset, but it does not open the mail enable login page like our primary page does.

I have made sure to put webmail.domain.com and webmail.otherdomain.com in the hosts file according to the doc.

Here is the other thing. We have our primary webmail login on port 80 also and we also have 2 other host headers of different domains on port 80 and all 3 work perfectly fine.

disregard last reply, it is working now. I was able to setup lets encrypt and generate a cert for the white labeled domain, once the cert was installed, the web page is now responding
