Migrating from Office 365

Post by STSanford »

I am looking to bring by mail back from Office 365 to MailEnable. I have followed the documentation and have gotten the mailboxes created by logging in to ME WebMail using the O365 credentials. Mail isn't migrating over though. Am I wrong in thinking that will happen? I was planning on having all mail migrated prior to re-pointing DNS.

Thanks for your help

I use the reverse method since migrating is a pain....

Despite having language specific tools, the inbox is inbox no matter what and that makes languages other than english a pain to migrate.

So move the DNS and watch mail flowing in.

Export the O365 mailboxes to an .PST and import them in outlook.

Make sure that NO / : or any illegal letters are used in the folder names.

Let the users move their mail to Mailenable.

Its a pain and I hate it.... but its the only way if you wanna make sure its bulletproof. And yes it should be possible to do it easier, but no.

As an update, support made some updates to the migration utility and it worked well. I have been able to migrate over all user data, at least that is how it appears. I'm continuing to test, but to be honest, it looks to have done a smooth transfer!

Hi,
Can you make a step by step guide??
It requires you upgrade to 10.40 which contains a fix for Office 365 migrations. You can find 10.40 on our beta page. The fix was to address a failure when connecting via TLS to the office 365 servers.
