I need a working anti-spam method

Post by Chrissicom »

Can anyone tell me how to stop spam on my server? I get like 7000 spam mails a day. They are mostly filtered by the Outlook 2003 Junk-Mail Filter but I would prefer if they'd been filtered on the server already.

Keep all of your good and bad mail for a couple weeks, then use this product...

http://assp.sourceforge.net/

I use it in 'test' mode and have it append [spam] to the subject line. I then use the mailenable filter to move everything to the 'Junk E-mail' folder.

I tried the built-in mailenable spam filter, but could never get it to be effective. ASSP is running about 98% effective, with VERY few false positives.

How do you get it to go to the Junk Mail folder? Thanks

Hi,

You could also try MEFilter - www.mefilter.com

Sorry, maybe our versions are different. I am running enterprise. You can set up a server-wide filter, or have the individual users set up the filter in Web mail. Basically, it is 'If the subject contains [SPAM], move the message to the Junk E-mail folder'. That is a feature built in to ME Enterprise.

OK...I was able to make a rule that would move things with the subject [SPAM] to the"Junk E-mail folder"

Not every account has a Junk e-mail folder. Does it create it automatically?
