MailEnable Pro Webmail HTTP 404

Post by Pathis »

Hello,

First off... I'm not terribly advanced in the world of mail servers. I'm setting one up for our small business. I setup MailEnable Professional so I could have the WebMail capability, but I am unable to reach the log on screen. I type in http://myserveraddress/MEWEBMAIL and I get the HTTP 404 - File not found screen.

I am able to goto http://myserveraddress and I am able to retrieve by POP.

Does anybody have a good place to start with this?

Thanks,

Hi,

You will need to navigate to Servers>localhost>Services>Webmail in the Mailenable administration program and right click webmail to open the prooperties window. In the opening window click on "Site configuration" button to open the site list with your confiured websites on the server. Ensure that webmail has been installed for the website you are trying to connect with.

More information can be found in this KB article: http://www.mailenable.com/kb/Content/Ar ... D=me020142

I did as you suggested, and I found that the Webmail had a description of Installed. However it also said "Stopped". Is this of any relevance?

Hi,

You will need to navigate to IIS Manager in Control Panel>Administrative tools and start the IIS service for any of your websites configured in IIS.

How do I do that if I am using Apache as my web server software? If I try to start the web service in IIS, I get an "Address already in use" error.

Thanks,

Does anybody know if MailEnable's Webmail service can be used if you are hosting with Apache?
