hang on install

Post by chisholmd »

Hanging application MEInstaller.exe, version 1.0.0.0, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000

I have been using ME for awhile and havn't had a single problem until tonight. I am installing ME on a DEV machine to run some test scripts and it hangs when installing MEPOPS.EXE.

I have shut down or un-locked everything I can think of, firewall, AV, re-enabled DCOM and RPC locator. At this point it's pretty close to a bare win2003 machine.

Anyone ever run into something like this?

A log file is created when the product is installed. These have a .log extension and are under the program files directory.

The best way to address the issue is to zip the .log files and log a support ticket under installation.

MEInstal.log from ..\program files\mail enable\bin directory

I check the log files under "logging" and they all are the same "log open" service starting etc etc. "log closed" nothing to indicate any problems that I can see in those. Except maybe the SMTP log, I can't tell if its contents indicate a problem or not.

Just read your message again and see that you reccomend a support ticket, not posting them here :)

Hardware

Post by chisholmd »

Well for me I think I traced my issues back to faulty hardware. The machine I was installing onto ended up failing in other areas so I toook it off the line.

(Its been awhile but that what I remember ;)
