ASP 0177 Error

I am no longer able to send emails from my web pages (ASP). One error I get for a page that did work previously is:
Server object, ASP 0177 (0x800401F3)
Invalid ProgID

I found the knowledge article (ME020247) and registered the measp.dll and didn't help.

Can someone please help?

You could try this....

1. Find all instances of scrrun.dll on your hard drive.
2. Un-register all of them with c:\winnt\system32>regsvr32 [path]\scrrun.dll /u
3. Register all of them with c:\winnt\system32>regsvr32 [path]\scrrun.dll
4. Re boot

no promises, but it may likely solve your problem.

Thanks for the tips. I tried both of the above to no avail.
I wasn't sure which components to reinstall so I did the files and the MMC, should I do any others or all of them?

If you have tried the MailEnable KB articles for the 0177 error to no avail then try the link below. You can check to see if this is required or occuring on your machine by going into services and licking on COM+ it is possible you will get an error. If so then please complete the following;

The problem could be occuring because the DTC Service on your server is failing.
The following link provides a procedure: http://www.jsiinc.com/SUBJ/tip4500/rh4593.htm (which looks like its been taken from the MS site).
Since the DTC cannot be started, fixing it is most likely going to require making changes to your machine - in line with any Microsoft articles.
In the interim, you may want to also determine if any articles exist which outline a possible cause for the DTS Service to fail.

By the way after comleting this article you should run the MEInstaller again and execute the first three options choosing an identical password for each.
