SPF weirdness

Post by ShawnKHall »

Hello all,

I'm seeing some SPF weirdness in spam headers, that make me wonder if maybe the SPF is broken in my ME?

Here's a relavent header line, from a forged message from "admin@templating-engine.info" to the same address:

Received-SPF: none (12pointdesign.com: templating-engine.info" does not designate permitted sender hosts)

Note the "quote". Also, I am using SPF for this (and all other domains) I host, so having ME report that SPF isn't set is funky.

Anyone have similar experiences and can guide me what I need to do?

Thanks!
-Shawn

Hi,

I have noticed the same problem those past days with some of our domains that have a correct SPF record.

No solution at this time.
ME staff maybe ?

Bye,
Arno

Sometimes, the SPF message header gets inserted into the message text. This would seem to me to be a bug...

For example, I have included a copy of some spam I received. I copied the message headers in as well, so you can see "the rest of the story."

Please note the second line of text in the message itself.
I have not altered the message or the headers other than to change my real email address to xxx@xxx.net. Any ideas why this happens?

Thanks!

You've seen it on "60 Minutes" and read the BBC News report -- now find out just what everyone is talking about.
Received-SPF: none (biznetix.net: arcor-ip.net does not designate permitted sender hosts)
