Upgrade Standard & Professional?

Post by Paul » Mon Nov 25, 2002 3:45 pm

Simple, probably stupid, question... Do I need to update Standard AND Professional to be up to date, or does updating just Professional do the trick?

apparently yes.... but do we just install overtop? Ive read the registry entries are lost but that's only (custom changes) right? Everything else will remain intact... this is a question not a statement :)

Both ME Std and ME Pro updates have just been released (11/25 and 11/26 respectively) so to be up-to-date reinstall both. We did this over the previous releases (three minutes downtime). Choose to retain settings and everything will convey with one exception. If you are using Reverse DNS Blacklist, the enabled services settings convey, but the overall Enable does not. Just check the box in SMTP Properties and you'll be good to go.

Paul,

YTou may want to have a quick look at: http://forum.mailenable.com/viewtopic.php?t=681

which covers questions about rebooting the server after upgrading.
