SMTP Outbound Copying

Post by Cyberprog »

I have a client who wants to make copies of all emails sent via their smtp server from a particular employee. I've been using MeSnoop, but that seems to plugin to the MTA event, not the SMTP event, is it possible to do what they want with MailEnable?

I would suggest you upgrade to the latest release via;

http://www.mailenable.com/mailenableprof.exe

Once installed you if not already you will have filtering which can be configured via;

MailEnable Admin MMC->Messaging Manager->Post Offices->Filters->

Then you can create a filter with;

Criteria - Where mail is FROM <mailboxname@domain.com>

Action - Forward to account specified.

This will still use the MTA traffic but would be better as this will save all messages sent from this mailbox even to local server accounts.

If you really only want to store SMTP outbound then this is not possible yet with the ME Filtering but will be in version 2 with the scripting tool.

Well MESnoop does seem to be working at present, but I look forward to the new features :)
