How to Add to "IP Address Connection Restrictions"

Post by Ruffs » Wed Feb 14, 2007 9:59 am

Hi there,

I would like to know if it is possible to add an IP determined to be sending junk to the IP Address Connection Restrictions access control list in code?

Ideally, I've a secondary application which is used to analyse some information, and I would like to ban an IP based on some of this information, and would just like to know how to do so.

It's obviously wasteful receiving the message from that IP if it is already compromised and sending junkmail, so I'd rather add it to disallowed IP's rather then just delete the message after accepting the mail.

Is there any guidance someone could offer me on this front as to where/how to add a new IP to this list. I don't recall having seen mention of such a method in the API.

Kind regards,

Ruffs :)

Have a look at the API guide, there are a set of functions in there that allow you to modify the contents of the SMTP-DENY config file which will do what you want.

Thank you Martyn, I must have missed that in previous viewings.

Kind regards, Ruffs :)
