Webmail Login-Getting postoffice from URL

Postby kwilkinson13 » Thu Nov 18, 2010 6:28 pm

I would like to allow my end users to login into their accounts via webmail using only their username and password. I would like to be able to pull the hostname from the URL and append that to the username that is submitted via the webmail form. For example, if someone goes to URL http://mail.xyz.com and enter username: johndoe, then johndoe@mail.xyz.com will be submitted.

I found an article on how to do this in ASP, but it no longer seems to apply now that Webmail is being developed in ASP.NET.

There is no need to edit the pages as such because current versions of MailEnable have this as an integrated feature.

It can be configured under the MailEnable MMC|Servers|Services|WebMail section by adding a host header, and then specifying the default postoffice.

If you prefer to edit the file directly, then the file is called "SITE-POSTOFFICE.TAB" and it contains the iis host name, a tab, and then the postoffice name.
