I need help delaying outgoing messages sending to Gmail

Post by bhs8227 »

We have been using mailenable for many years and it has worked great for our needs. We utilize email groups to send emails from outside of the system. Recently though when sending and email from a gmail address to a group that has many other gmail addresses gmail has been rejecting the emails with an error of 421-4.7.28 [ip address 15] Our system has detected an unusual rate of. If you send from an outlook, yahoo, or another domain the email will go into the gmail user's inbox without question.

Since gmail is detecting a high rate of emails all at once I would like to throttle the speed in which emails are delivered. I tried to capture this using a MTA pickup event but it only captures the incoming message sent to the group and not the individual emails going out.

Does anyone have any suggestions to help me throttle outgoing emails? Perhaps to put a half second delay between emails. Even better to put a delay only if going to a gmail address or being sent from a gmail address?

I would appreciate any help/guidance you can provide.
