AUP

Post by dedicate-it.net »

I find it pretty ridiculous that this company (who has yet to release a major version upgrade in 7 years is still harassing me about AUP and how it expired over 143 days ago.

Let me suggest somethings:

First - anyone still paying for AUP is wasting their money.

After 7 years - there is no new version, support is non-existent, and there seems to be only one person left at this company whose sole job is cashing deposits. It has become pretty evident this is a dying company clinging to income they SHOULDN'T be asking for if they have no intentions of delivering the product upgrade they've been charging close to a decade for.

Truly, the company needs to start becoming more public about their intentions, because charging AUP for a program without a FULL VERSION UPGRADE in 7 years is equivalent to FRAUD - ESPECIALLY when there has been NO COMMUNICATION WHATSOEVER ABOUT THE STATUS OF v11.

(and the continued history of ignoring these posts doesn't help any).

The AUP really should be a credit based system. Buy a renewal credit, you don't need to buy another until the credit is used on an upgrade. If something needs to be used to address the minor security fixes and bug squashing, then so be it. But it does seem like stealing to take money for an upgrade then never offer an upgrade.
