Too many recipients - from list server
Too many recipients - from list server
Hello,
I have a client that has a large number of emails within a list that they send out as a newsletter.
Hotmail is returning "Too many recipients" after a certain point.
Is there any way to regulate the number of recipients that a list sends?
I noticed that ME has actually divided up SOME of the recipients (there are multiple messages in the outbound queue for the same domain with multiple recipients), just the division value is obviously too high for hotmail.

This key does work unless you are relaying. Are you relaying? If not then I suggest you re check your settings.

There is a list server limit key also that may help;
You could use the following registry change to limit the amount of recipients per message from the list server;
HKLM->Software->MailEnable->MailEnable->Connectors->LS->Maximum Inbound Recipients
You will need to restart the List Sevice after this change.

Thanks Ben -
just to go back to your relaying comment -
The server is set to Enable Mail Relay for authenticated users and priviledged IPs (127.0.0.1).
Does that mean that the setting will not work if the user sends to the list service?
I'll also make that adjustment to the LS.
AND: I'm using a x64 OS - does that change where the Key is located? I have a MainEnable branch in the WOW6432Node - I've added the keys in both the stipulated location and in the 64 node *just* in case.

Re: Too many recipients - from list server
You could utilize the accompanying registry change to point of confinement the measure of beneficiaries for every message from the record server.HKLM->Software.you will restart the List Sevice after this change.

Hi! In Microsoft Office 365 dedicated, you receive a non-delivery report (NDR) when you send an email message to many recipients. The NDR contains an error that resembles the following:
5.5.3 - Too many recipients in the message. Reduce number of recipients in message and resend.
5.5.3 - Too many recipients in the message. Reduce number of recipients in message and resend.
