Re-Routing Certain Mailboxes to a Domain Literal Account

Post by BrandywineITS » Mon Apr 27, 2009 11:38 pm

I have two mailboxes in a particular post office, who's recipients are at a location with an exchange server on another domain name. They have setup the exchange server to allow the receipt of domain literals for these two accounts (i.e., "UserName@[IPAddress]" ). The two individuals would like their mail to be forwarded to a domain literal as well as maintain a copy in the mailbox on the ME server.

In ME, under the mailbox settings, I have attempted several address formats in the "Redirect mail to:" entries without success. I get the following message in ME (SMTP-Debug log) when the attempts were made: "Could not resolve MX list for domain [IPAddress]"

Has anyone accomplished forwarding specific mailboxes to a domain literal account? Thank you in advance for any assistance anyone can provide.

Hi, Sorry MailEnable only supports the inbound for the domain literal not outbound. We currently have an internal issue for this to be reviewed, but I wouldnt bank on this getting done anytime soon, as the request is very rare.
