I installed Mail Enable Standard Edition on my Windows 2012 server. I noticed that by default Windows 2012 Firewall only allows port 25 traffic to the IIS SMTP server. If I disable the Windows Firewall, Mail Enable receives the mail fine from the Internet.
I tried creating a inbound firewall rule on the Windows firewall to allow inbound port 25 traffic to the Mail Enable SMTP service, however the mail was still not getting through.
Is it the Mail Enable SMTP service which receives the mail from the Internet ? Or is it another service/program.

Re: Windows 2012 Firewall Port 25 blocking
SMTP will be the service that receives email from the Internet. You might be able to edit the existing firewall rule for port 25 to change it from IIS SMTP to the ME SMTP instead of adding a new rule.
