SMTP Inbound Bindings Test - No SMTP Server Detected?
Why does MailEnable not detect a SMTP Server? I have tried both binding and unbinding these IP addresses but they don't work.
Test Detail Test Data Test Response Status
192.168.0.5 No Server Detected Warning - No SMTP Server was detected at this IP Address. Warn
127.0.0.1 No Server Detected Warning - No SMTP Server was detected at this IP Address. Warn
I can also send & receive within the LAN, but mail sent from domains outside cannot be received. Do I need reverse DNS?

Check your SMTP bindings in the SMTP properties->Inbound TAB change the bindings to all IPs.No SMTP Server was detected at this IP Address. Warn
What is the error when you send remotely? What happens if you telnet remotely to a domain hosted on your server?

I have tried setting that TAB on and off but the diagnostic report shows the same error.
I see a socket connection error, ID 10061. My sending and receiving is only ok within the LAN.
Also can't send / receive on POP.
I do suspect it's a DNS problem...
Oh, I can't even telnet my domain from the server...127.0.0.1 or the internal IP...

Dont think it is DNS unless you are being directed to the wrong server this is something you could look into.
The service would appear to be not able to bind to all the IPs of the server you should make sure that there is nothing preventing this firewall/proxy software on the server (can be an idea to turn off AV while testing this) or there is another service running on the server. Do the logs tell you anything when you start the service?

I have turned off SMTP in IIS, do not have any AV on the server (yet), no firewall as well, as even tried disabling the SPI firewall on the router. I'm on a dynamic IP, but as my router is 24x7 it's always had that same IP. Ports are all also forwarded - POP, SMTP, Telnet, HTTP, etc...
The logs look fine when starting.
I'll keep investigating.

OK dont worry about your router settings dont think they willl matter it will be something on the server preventing the binding or stopping access to the service. What actually happens when you telnet to the localhost on port 25 while logged into the server as an administrator.

OK if you have no errors in the SMTP logs when the service is starting then this will usually mean that something is blocking the ports on the server. And of course you did mean port 25 below didnt you? What happens if you telnet to the POP service on port 110?

Hello.
I have a similar problem.
On my mailenabled server the mail comes out but unfortunately it doesn't come and I don't know there is or there may be a problem in the configuration. I am asking for help, Michał.

Re: SMTP Inbound Bindings Test - No SMTP Server Detected?
Please help
When I use 25 port without SSL in SMTP inbound setting there is no warning for SMTP inbound test and able to receive mails but as soon as I am changing the port to 465 or 587 and select Require SSL options it is stopped working and diagnose result showing warning on SMTP inbound test
Firewall disabled Antivirus disabled Server has no other mail services
Don’t know where is the issue
Request all to help me
Thanks
Kumar
