MailEnable LDAP Beta and Symantec Mail Security for Gateway

Some forum users have indicated that they wush to use SMS Gateway with the MailEnable LDAP Service.

Settings (for syncronization) follow:

Type: iPlanet/Sun ONE /Java Directory Server

Name (bind DN) = cn=directory manager, o=mailenable
Usage: Synchronization

Query Start (Sync base DN): c=AU
User query: (mail=*)
Group query: (!(mail=*))
Distribution list query: (mail=*)

Note: the query fields can be any fields denoted in the inetorgperson class: http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2798.html

Also, the c=AU in the Sync Base DN can really be any country code. It is ignored. The only reason for putting anything in there is to trick SMS into allowing a blank root DN. Mailenable will treat anything it does not recognize as the root DN. eg: c=AU

Hi Andrew,
i use SMS Gateway with MailEnable.
i have a question for you. I have just tried to add a ldap (for synchronization) using setting that you have indicated. I have a problem because when i try to test login SMS gives me an error like this: "Please enable retro changelog plugin as described in Sun ONE documentation."

I don't know what it means and how i can resolve this problem. Can you help me?

Synchronization of LDAP is very important to prevent spammer attacks.

It seems at Mailenable they're not interested to solve this problem... as you can see they also are giving out suggestions on how to set a program without even testing it!
Every SMS user knows that this solution cannot work and Andrew (Mailenable) seems to be the only one in the world able to sync SMS ldap with ME.
Unfortunately, he's not able to explain us how he did it...

I'm sorry guys to tell you there's plenty of mail servers out there ...
