ME Enterprise 3.6 HTTP problem

Post by wembley2000 » Sat Nov 08, 2008 12:05 pm

Hi there

I have me Enterprise 3.6 and upgraded on the 5th of November 2008; however subsequent to upgrading, my clients are unable to access HTTP mail.

Could anyone give me advice on how to fix this issue as it is now causing some concern and agrivation to my clients. It should be pointed out that they can access using webmail though, but Outlook is giving them the following error code (0x800cccf4)

Kind regards

Are the clients hitting the HTTPMail service? What do the logs say?

Hi Ben

I can see some server logs where the user is getting to the server.

Not sure wat i'm looking for though but can see auth, move, bmove and propfind commands when users are attempting to access mail foldes.

This problem only occured once I installed ME Enterprise V3.6; V3.5x worked just fine other than bugs which have been fixed in V3.6 e.g. duplicate email bug.

Regards

By default, the HTTP service has been disabled from automatically loading due to the lack of popularity (there was a post about this several months ago and I was told by ME that HTTP wasn't used much). However, I manually set the HTTP service to run automatically. Thus far, it runs without any known issues.

Hi

I have checked and double checked if all services are running on a domain/global basis and they are. The problem has only occured since installing version 3.6 Enterprise edition.

Has anyone else had this problem and know how to fix it; I cannot find anything about the specific error message on the Mailenable website/forum.

Yes, me too.
After the upgrade the service was not started and *manual* set. I have select the Mailenable HTTPMailservice to automatic and startet it.

If you're commenting about it being set from automatic to manual, it's been that way as far as I know of in all the version 3.x versions. Every upgrade, I always have the change it.

OK so if the service is running I would then disable any proxy/firewall products on the client/server and then retest as they can cause this error. If this does not help then send through the details PM of a mailbox and I will test from here.

Did the service stop working because the service got reset to manual and stopped or did it fail for another reason. If the former, start the service, set it to automatic.

Show us the debug logs after the service fails to start.

Hi,

Thanks for your interest, but i clean up the inbox again, and the outlook start to sync again. I will follow the problem and if it fail again i will post the debug log.

The problem never was about the windows service, it was about the sync between the outlook and the server using the http service.

Thanks,

ME Enterprise v4 0x800cccf4 error

Post by wembley2000 » Sat Sep 12, 2009 3:49 pm

Hi there

I have never been able to solve the error 0x800cccf4 error on my server, even after upgrading to v4 (evaluation for now).

Anyone got any idea of why this might be happening even though I have enabled the service and set this to automatic?

Please help, this is now really annoying and has caused me many an hour heartache/pain :(

Regards

Jason

On investigation

I do have one question though, the HTTPMail Service use me_system user account yet the LDAP uses 'local system'. Would this make any difference as to the service being accessible or not?

Regards

Jason
