IMAP cannot connect

Post by jfenwickar » Tue Jan 20, 2009 12:16 am

ME Ent 3.6

I cannot get any Outlook client to connect using IMAP.

I CAN telnet to the IMAP service on both ports 143 and 145

I get the following error from Outlook:
Log onto incoming mail server (IMAP): The operation timed out waiting for a response from the server.

I get the following header when I telnet to the IMAP IP and port:
* OK IMAP4rev1 server ready at 01/19/09 18:14:02

and I can successfully logout with a001 logout

Anyone have any ideas what I am missing in the IMAP setup?
Does the ME server require a "root folder path" entry in the Outlook setup?

Ben, if you think you can help with this I will open a paid ticket for you.

Hi,

Not to sure what can be causing this other then email client account settings. Have you inspected the MailEnable IMAP log files in respect to the times you are trying to connect from the email client? If you PM me with the account credentials I can try and setup the account to see if we are able to connect.

All is good.

Was not an actual problem. Just an ID10T error
