SQL Server: ME01 - DSN does not exist

Post by tomaz »

Hello,

We're planning to use MailEnable Enterprise Edition and now testing it on our server.
The problem is with Provider migration utility and MySQL.

The same error occur then editing connection values or initialize:
"Unable to create DSN" in "Errors.." shows as "SQL Server: ME01 - DSN does not exist".

The fact is that Provider migration utility actually edits DSN parameters,
it adds DSN description (and if you change password to wrong, error shows that access denied).
And also Provider migration utility connects to MySQL, as it gets media status.

System DSN works fine, tested with scripts. DSN was created with root user, sow this is not permission problem.
The same problem persist with MySQL Connector/ODBC 5.1.5 and with MySQL Connector/ODBC 3.51.27.

System:
Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition, Service Pack 2
MySQL Community Server 5.0.77
MySQL Connector/ODBC 5.1.5
MySQL Connector/ODBC 3.51.27
MailEnable Enterprise Edition 3.61 (2 months evaluation)

Any ideas?
Thank you

Hi,

Have you tried deleting the MailEnable-MySQL DSN manually under the ODBC DSN properties window and then using the provider migration utility to recreate the DSN? Click on the propeties button before you intialize and ensure that the credentials are correct. If this does not work then the best way forward would be to lodge a support ticket and provide remote desktop login details that a techinician can login to the server and diagnose.

Was there a resolution to this? I am having the exact same problem. Me 8.51 on Windows 2012. "Unable to create DSN" in the provider migration tool. However, I can connect using the same credentials and MySQL tools.

Hi,

Have you created the 64bit DSN manually within ODBC Data Sources (64-Bit) under administrative tools in windows?

Hi,

The error "MySQL: ME01 - DSN does not exist" is for the MySQL DSN checks. You mentioned your trying to migrate to "SQL server" therefore you can ignore the "MySQL: ME01 - DSN does not exist" error. Are you sure your trying to initialize "SQL server"? Have you created the 64Bit ODBC DSN for SQL server within Windows ODBC manager manually?
