Issue with Priceline.com emails coming in

Post by cqi »

Ian/Ben:

Can you help me with an issue I'm having? I have a customer who is trying to recieve emails from priceline.com but I keep getting an error in the logs regarding "Socket was disconnected - Error: (10054). I have turned on advanced logging and I've pasted the results below. Not having an issue with any others, just this one. The log below show where they are trying to send me somthing and get disconnected. I have turned off blacklisting in my account tab so it is not on. Any ideas?

Fri-Mon is 4 days inclusive (and over a weekend)!

We always say that the forum is ideal when you are directly addressing a question to MailEnable. The volume is high and posts can easily get lost (thats why the ticket system exists).

Unfortuntely those logs show that the remote server is disconnecting. There is no transmission timeout occuring - its a forceful disconnection.

It normally means that connecting server sent a TCP RESET (ie: deliberate disconnection)
So, it is their server logs that would have the reason for disconnection.

The *only* other cause (that I have seen) is that your server or a router between the two servers has a bad MTU setting (resulting in packet loss).

You can check this with the ping utility. Example: ping [host] -t -l 1350
See:

http://www.mailenable.com/kb/Content/Ar ... D=me020074

Other than that, you would need to contact the administrator of ash1-smtp-dmz01.dmz.priceline.com - and ask them why their server is issuing a TCP/RESET.
Regards, Andrew
