Remove messages from IMAP folders

I have installed the IMAP module and it works fine. However, when customers using IAMP remove messages they remain on the server. Does anybody knows how you can remove these messages?

With imap, clicking on 'DELETE' will only mark the message for deletion. To actually remove it, you have to 'EXPUNGE' messages marked for deletion. In Outlook/Outlook Express I think it's under the edit menu, then click expunge. Im pretty sure there is also a way to set it up to always expunge. Also with rules in outlook, you can tell it to hide messages marked for deletion. This will not display them, but won't delete them either. There are many options, but the expunge command is what you're looking for.
