We are in a server migration process and we have install the same mailenable version on the new server trial mode to test everything offline. After the end of process the licence data as been migrated to and the alert of licence problems what it is normal… I notice that mailenable was limited Imap, webmail calendar disappear .
In the Diagnostic Report as two warnings:
IIS (Internet Information Server) NetFxEnvironment ASP.NET role may not be configured correctly. Warn
IIS (Internet Information Server) NetFxExtensibility ASP.NET may not be configured correctly. Warn
There is more limitations ? there is a way to test without limitations offline mode without updating the license key to the new server ?
Best regards

Re: Licence limitations
Hi,
Migrating the license from the old server to the new server will not work and the assigned license key details are for the old server. You need to login to your Online services account and update the assigned license key details so that they match the new server. Here is an article to help you further:

For the ASP.NET warnings are you experiencing problems accessing the web mail client on the new server? If not then you can ignore the warnings.

Re: Licence limitations
hi, thanks for reply.
Webmail client sims to working ok in reduced functionality mode.
We are not sure that if we will request new licence key the old one will still work that is why we need to check that migrated data end server works fine in fully functionality mode.
any ideas ?
Best regards

Re: Licence limitations
Hi,
If the trial period has expired on the new server then your best way forward is to remove MailEnable completely from the new server (remove MailEnable registry branch) and reinstall. Once you reinstall it will provide 60 days of full functionality in trial mode. This will allow you adequate time to perform the migration from the old server. Once the migration is complete review the article I provided earlier and request a new key fro the new server.

Re: Licence limitations
I know this thread is from long ago.
But reading here I am hoping that this is NOT still true: "your best way forward is to remove MailEnable completely from the new server"
We have installed the same version of ME for our migration - we saw that it was successfully set up as trial license.
We did the complete migration and when we did the configuration it appears to have changed the trial license to the same license as our existing live ME server. This is giving us the error message that it can not run unless it gets the full license key (which we assume will shut down the old ME server functions which we are not ready to do.) See attachment.
How can we go back to having both installations running at the same time while we do the testing portion?
If we reinstall for the trial version - then we have to redo the entire migration all over again? Say it isn't so, please.
Then what happens if it does this again?

Re: Licence limitations
If you copy the MailEnable Windows registry branch from one server to another, likely you will get the license issue. Just apply an updated license key using the steps below:
https://www.mailenable.com/kb/content/article.asp?ID=ME020267
Doing this will not stop the old server working, so you can still complete any migration.
