Unable to send to verizon.net

Hi There, for the last while now we are unable to send an email to any @verizon.net customer. We've tried abuse@verizon.net email address too and receive the same result as below. When i send from a non mailenable account, the email to abuse@verizon.net goes through with no issues and receive an automated response. We only have an issue with verizon.net. Our public mail IP's are not blacklisted. Can anyone tell us why this is happening?

Hi,

Are you able to telnet to relay.verizon.net within a command prompt from the MailEnable server and can establish a connection? Here is more information on performing a telnet test:

Yes I am able to. The problem is I have to do it a couple of times in a row telnet relay.verizon.net 25 in order to get a connection. How do I make mailenable do the same? I'm assuming mailenable only tries once and stops. The mailenable logs show it always not able to connect to relay.verizon.net 25 during all 30 attempts before it stops and I receive the bounce back. Any other mailenable customers having this issue and why only Verizon.net?

Hi,

Maybe try and change the DNS server used under MailEnable within the SMTP properties under the "General" tab. Try use a free service like Google DNS 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 to see if this helps.

I had a similar problem with "cableone.net" last month. After talking with their technical support and some persistence they agreed to look into the problem and get back with me. They never got back, but the problem was suddenly fixed.
