webmail and attachments

Post by cfdynamics »

We keep having random failures when trying to send attachments in webmail since version 9.10. 3 servers in a clustered configuration running the most recent 9.11 installation.

Most recent example not only did not send the attachment but also left the subject line blank. Issue does not appear to be server specific and not related to the attachments. I was able to send the same attachment through the same server with another attempt.

any ideas?

Having same problem with Webmail. Send a PDF file and the receiving party is getting an attachment but with the file renamed and the size of 0kb.

HELP customers are complaining.

Our users are having the same error regardless of the browser used. Tested browsers: Edge, IE, Chrome and Firefox. The work around is using the "Attachment" link. The error only happens when using "Browse" button.

Hi,

We have tried emulating the behavior without success. I think the best way forward here would be to lodge a support ticket under "upgrade" (free) and provide credentials for a test mailbox along with the URL for the web mail client and an example of the file you're uploading via web mail so we can emulate the problem.

Hi all,
I have this issue too. I have found the origin of the problem, it depends on the name of de file. I realized that the file I had problems with had a dot additional to the file extension (in the middle of the file name more or less). I renamed the dot, and the problem finished.

I have also another problem with webmail which I have not detected the origin of it, that I will post in another thread, but I though this would help to update this Webmail bug...

Guillermo Pérez

I submitted a support request as requested but for got to mention, as of now the only attachments attempted by clients and myself were PDF's.

Still running 9.74 here. Was waiting for release notes to indicate a fix was in place.

Hi,

I believe the fix in the release notes in 9.75 was:

FIX: Base64 attachments under 80 bytes would not decode in webmail

It appears that the issue still exists in version 9.75. Customer is also reporting that sometimes when they are just replying to an email that came with an attachment, the reply disappears after they click send. Not found in drafts or sent folder either...
