webmail missing shares

Post by kather »

using ME Enterprise v9.17 we have done all directions given in

Code: Select all

https://www.mailenable.com/kb/content/article.asp?ID=ME020507
to create a shared mailbox. As we log in the web mail as the shared mail box user we can check that the mail box is really shared.

Trying to connect to the shared mailbox from the web mail of the other user is not possible. The button / choice Connect To Share Button is not available. (

Code: Select all

http://www.mailenable.com/documentation/webmail/webframe.html#Folder_tree_Toolbar.html
).

All settings for the post office and relevant mail boxes are correct as pointed out in the previous document. We only miss the option to connect to the share.

So what are we missing here?
Please advice...

thanks Walther

Hi,

Update to the 9.50 release to ensure you have the latest fixes. You should see a "more" drop down menu on top of the folder tree window with the option to "connect to Share". This was not appearing in earlier versions.

Hi,

just updated to version 9.5; still no possibility to connect or create a share. There are no share buttons visible in web mail.

We did a standard upgrade (leave all pre-selected settings as they were).

hope to hear from you
thanks Walther

Hi,

The drop down menu will be in the next release. You can still connect to shares though by navigating to the "Options" page and expanding the "Shared" node. Do you see the "Shared" node?

Hi,

Under "Webmail" properties within the MailEnable administration console navigate to the "Site Options" page and use the drop down menu to set the "Sharing Permitted" to "Sharing is available for all mailboxes". Once set check web mail options page.

Hi Ian,

by accident I'm working today on our laptop (windows 10) and much to my suprise I found the shared menu under the options. With my regalur work station (also Windows 10) these shared options are not visible. Same webmail, same OS but still a difference.

So it has nothing to do with Mail Enable but some things local. We will look to this and if found the cause will et you know.

thanks for all the help
with regards Walther
