[SOLVED] Calendar went blank in Outlook and Webmail

Post by jelliott77 »

Hello,

We have had a few users report that their calendar appointments have disappeared completely over the last couple of days. This has happened in both their Outlook and Web-mail simultaneously. If we look into their Calendar folder on the server, we find that all of their CAL files are still there. Unfortunately, the xml file for their calendar is blank (except for the heading). Is there a way to rebuild the xml file like you can for the inbox? I think that the issue can be resolved if the xml file is rebuilt.

Hi,

Firstly if your running an old version of MailEnable then please upgrade to ensure that you have all the latest fixes and updates to MailEnable core services that may be causing the index to become corrupt. To fix the missing entries create a blank text file via Windows Notepad and name it _change.dty and then place the file in the "Calendar" folder. Login to the web mail client and access the calendar so that the index.xml file is updated. If it doesn't work simply delete the current index and access the calendar for the file to be rebuilt.

The _change.dty file did the trick!

Thanks!
