Is MailEnable Archive has any best improvement or Need Mx Scan alternate or any best archiving software

Post by tanveer.hussain »

Need an alternate of Mx Scan (MxUpTime) or more better software. Need best mail archiving software for MailEnable. One has already suggested MailArchiva.

Suggest if MailArchiva covers below features or any other software which covered it and more better...

keeping mails of all or selected users on the server without involving user help or depending on user actions for backup etc. All Mail folders (Inbox, Sent, Draft etc.) be available on the server for full recovery in the events of any laptop loss/user hard disk crashes, accidental or deliberate deletions of mails etc. etc.

kindly help?

regards,

Are you wanting archiving for inbound messages, a snap shot of all accounts and folders, a copy any messages leaving account regardless of the email software method?

You can create a filter in ME that can copy all in and outbound messages for particular accounts and copy them to a folder under an archive email account.

Alternatively if you have second drive in the server, you can use a program like SyncBackSE to copy all the folders and emails. After the initial copy it will only update what has been changed. It is a great way if you want to archive weekly or nightly. I suggest this option because not every email that comes in, goes out, etc. is worth saving. Some may be junk. Some maybe nothing of value. No one wants an accumulation of spam and deleted messages saved from years dumped back into their account from an archive. This is why I suggested a nightly or weekly backup. The only downside is disk seek usage but if scheduled properly after hours, you should be good.
