Malformed From Address Being Accepted, Different Case - No From Email Address <>

Post by PeteBatin »

Hi,

Further to my previous post I've just received an new sort of phish/scam email. Although this relates to my other post in that malformed is being accepted and not rejected, this is different this time as there is no email address in the From header.

Without sounding demanding(not my intention), could this and the other problem with Malformed be looked into as a matter of priority. I imagine (I know easier said than done) that it should be relatively easy to provide an option within SMTP to Accept/Reject email based on Malformed or if not malformed on the basis of whether the basics are present in the headers and this simple offering will have such a positive impact on reducing spam with bad intent. Even a preset configurable Filter would help or knowing how to create/what to put in a scripted filter until a permanent solution has been found.
