Bayesian reset

Post by dcol »

How can I reset the bayesian filter dictionary. The dictionary is so messed up, many legitimate emails are getting flagged now.
Can I just delete the dictionary and it will start over?
if there is no way, I will have to disable it.

Hi,

You can delete it or rename the current dictionary file for backup and then retrain it. Please see:

bayesian in ME is all but useless these days as ME does not excluded hidden text or text buried at the bottom which throws off the entire dictionary.

So I should just disable it altogether?
What is Mailenable's position on this?

Hi,

Please see:

https://www.mailenable.com/documentation/10.0/Enterprise/Manual%20training.html
https://www.mailenable.com/documentation/10.0/Enterprise/Spam%20Training%20Utility.html

But answering your questions, yes its probably good idea to delete the dictionary and setup auto training or manual training to start building a new one.
