Guide for changing the user Mailenable runs as

Post by Eugene »

I purchased two copies of Mailenable Enterprise so I could set up an HA pair using a MySQL backend for the configuration and DFS for mailbox/postoffice storage. To make it work with DFS I had to create accounts in the domain that MailEnable runs as so it could properly access the postoffice storage without giving everybody on the network access to it as well.

It's a constant struggle finding new things that are broken because of this. Trying to change the service account through the admin interface doesn't work, I had to manually modify the services to run as a specific user. I'm also having to modify permissions on the IIS components to make sure web services work as well.

Is there a simple guide that outlines *every component* that needs to be updated when changing what user account MailEnable runs as?

Thanks.
