Mail stuck in Queues\SMTP\Inbound\Messages
Mail stuck in Queues\SMTP\Inbound\Messages
It seems like certain emails get "stuck" in the Queues\SMTP\Inbound\Messages folder, despite being addressed to an existing address on the MailEnable server. Is there some logging to understand why they aren't being delivered?

Re: Mail stuck in Queues\SMTP\Inbound\Messages
Maybe in general, can someone in support speak to why messages go "dead" with an underscore in the Queues\SMTP\Inbound\Messages folder? We get a couple dozen of these a day, and they all appear to be legitimate messages.

Hi,
If the email filenames start with an underscore, then this is indicating that it is a temporary file, which is used when headers are added, or a plugin is accessing it. You are best to look at the MTA debug log to see if you see the filename (without the underscore) to see if it accessed the file. Once you see "was received successfully and delivery thread was initiated" it means that the message has been accepted, and is in the message queue and will then have the DNS/URL blacklist check before the MTA picks it up to be moved.
If you are getting a couple of dozen a day with underscores, it sounds like a plugin or filter problem. We can have a look at the server logs if you want. We'd need the SMTP Debug and Activity log. Just submit a support ticket or email sales@mailenable.com to progress this.
