ADS Connection to different OUs with different domains

Post by pille »

hello all

i have a hug issue with the enterprise version of mailenable. i got in touch with the support and they offered me a fix and wanted to build in the next update the needed options - still nothing. and i need to make a decission to keep that email server or not. right now, i want to change it. anyway, maybe one of you guys know how to solve the issue.

i have following structure
Domain.cloud
OU customer
Ou company 1 (domain comany1.com)
Ou users ---------- here the option of the domain configure need to connect for query usernames on the desired domain
Ou standort
Ou HR
OU Management HR
OU HR User
Ou engineering
OU Management engineering
OU engineering User

Ou company 2 (company2.com)
Ou users ---------- here the option of the domain configure need to connect for query usernames on the desired domain
Ou standort
Ou HR
OU Management HR
OU HR User
Ou engineering
OU Management engineering
OU engineering User

as you see, the domain configuration, ADS/LDAP need to connect to specific OUs and get the usernames/email addresses for authentication.
it doesnt matter, standalone or domain server - you can only connect to the Root of the ADS and get the user from there, NO SUB_OU works. in 20 years i have never seen any ADS Config to have all users under the root/User. they are all in logically structure in any Sub_OU.

right now, i am evaluating other solutions, i am waiting since long time for a solution - nothing. this email server doesnt bring anything positive for me.
thx guys
