Abuse Detection and Prevention triggers

Post by dcol »

I know Abuse Detection and Prevention triggers for password dictionary attacks, but does it also trigger for connection dropping?
I would prefer using Abuse Detection since it has an expire time and connection dropping does not. My connection dropping grows to thousand of IP's within a week. And if I don't check it regularly, the server starts slowing down because of it.

Anther question, where can I see a list of Abuse Detection IP's or a log? That would help to know if Connection Dropping is triggering Abuse Detection.

Couldn't find this anywhere, and if connection dropping is not considered Abuse detection, it should be.

Abuse detection is only on authentication. Invalid recipients don't trigger the abuse detection, they are just handled by the connection dropping.

Then why is it recommended by ME to not run both at the same time. I will have to turn connection dropping back on.
